Giannis Antetokounmpo unveils next Nike Zoom Freak 1

Following the success of his first Nike Zoom Freak 1 sneaker roll out, Giannis Antetokounmpo has unveiled the colorway for his next shoe coming soon.

Giannis Antetokounmpo had his first sneaker from his deal with Nike (and just his first sneaker in general) release at the top of this summer after about a year’s worth of build up, set backs and a general feeling that these shoes may never come out. But thankfully, they did come out eventually and when they did, they were a hit with everyone from die hard sneakerheads, Milwaukee Bucks fans, NBA fans, general basketball fans, and just casual folks who just thought that the shoes looked dope enough to buy.

Naturally, because of all of this success, Nike and Giannis have decided to release a brand new colorway for the Zoom Freak 1. This new colorway is set to honor not only the Greek Freak himself, but also Greece’s team heading into the upcoming FIBA World Cup, as well as the Greek Freak’s country that he was born in. In honor of Greece, the sneaker will be called just that: the “Greece” Nike Zoom Freak 1.

Giannis officially unveiled the sneaker in a video on Instagram he posted, which can be viewed below.

The blue and white color scheme of the shoe is done in honor of the nation’s flag. On the sides of the sole lies the classic big swoosh in a gold color scheme, which may or may not be representing the gold medal that Giannis brought to his country not too long ago.

The “Greece” Nike Zoom Freak 1 is set to hit select Nike Basketball retail stores and on Nike’s official website on Sept. 27 just under a month from now. Keep a look out for when these bad boys hit a local sneaker store near you.
