One of the public’s favorite couples, Russell Wilson and Ciara, recently celebrated nine years of marriage on their anniversary of July 6. The New York Giants quarterback took to social media to do what has become a norm for him: celebrating his wife and expressing his love and appreciation for her.

Sharing a 54-second video compilation of the two— with SWV’s classic love song “Weak” playing over the footage —Wilson wished a happy anniversary to his queen, expressing that she lights up his life in ways words can’t explain. The quarterback said their relationship is the kind of partnership he prayed for.

Not to be outdone, Ciara also shared a compilation video of the two on her social media platforms with her own words.

With her minute-and-a-half video being set to Nicki Minaj’s “Your Love,” the superstar singer wished her husband a happy anniversary by saying it’s been “9 years of pure joy, laughter, growth, and love!” Like Wilson, Ciara also thanked God for the two’s relationship.

Wilson and Ciara first started dating in 2015 and announced their engagement in March of 2016. A few months later, the two officially got married on July 6, 2016, and have since been one of the most celebrated celebrity couples. The two are parents of four children, with their most recent child being born in December 2023.

As they celebrate nine years of marriage, the married couple is also entering a new chapter in their life, as Russell Wilson joined the Giants this offseason.

After a decade with the Seattle Seahawks, Wilson went to the Denver Broncos in 2022, playing two seasons with them, before joining the Pittsburgh Steelers last season. Now, he and Ciara are in New York as he prepares for his 14th NFL season.
