Football is the family business for NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, and his kids have officially taken over the operation, with sons Shilo and Shedeur Sanders entering the NFL this year.
However, football isn’t the only business the Sanders family is versed in. During his heyday, Deion Sanders shined on the football field with the Atlanta Falcons, the baseball field with the Atlanta Braves, and in the recording booth.
While his children won’t be playing in the MLB, they have followed in his footsteps by making music on the side.
Cleveland Browns QB Shedeur Sanders shares clip of unreleased song that partly pays homage to Deion Sanders
Shilo, a safety for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, released an album in January titled "Hate 2 Love", which he produced and rapped on. He’s also a really good piano player.
Shedeur, the Cleveland Browns quarterback, has officially released one song on streaming platforms, “Perfect Timing,” which he has become synonymous with. He has also previewed many more songs, often using them as the soundtrack to his workout footage.
Earlier this week, Shedeur shared a video on Instagram of him running, getting prepared for training camp in a few weeks, and the audio was an unreleased song from him, which paid homage to one of his father’s past eras. The song is titled “Too Legit,” with Sanders and a featured artist saying the famous phrase “too legit to quit.”
Those words, of course, come from MC Hammer’s 1991 hit single “2 Legit 2 Quit.” The song is also synonymous with the 1991 Falcons team, as several players, including Deion Sanders and head coach Jerry Glanville appeared in the music video. The song also became Atlanta’s theme song, and they became known as the “2 Legit 2 Quit” Falcons.
Shedeur, while not playing in Atlanta, is keeping the mantra alive through his music, the same way he breaks out his father’s famous shuffle anytime he runs the ball in for a score. With the moves and music down, Shedeur Sanders is hoping to carve out an NFL career as legendary as his father’s.
