The Missouri Tigers men’s basketball team is looking to change their image this upcoming season, and they’re doing it in a huge way.
The Missouri Tigers men’s basketball team is setting out to make a huge statement this upcoming season.
According to Rock M Nation, a Mizzou fansite, the Tigers will be sporting an all-black uniform when they hit the road this season. The school made the big reveal on Oct. 14, and the video is sick, for Mizzou fans, anyway:
The players look so intense, and the new uniforms will match that level of intensity the team is expected to bring to the court this season. They will have plenty of momentum to go off of this season, as the Tigers are coming off an NCAA Tournament appearance, which sped up their rebuilding schedule.
Mizzou head coach Cuonzo Martin, now in his second season in Columbia, is letting his players know that thanks to the tournament appearance, there will be no nights off and that they will be the hunted, and not the hunters.
So, looking at it from that perspective, the all-black uniforms carries a deep message this season, that the Tigers are ready for anything the rest of the college basketball world will dish out to them this season.
The goal for the Tigers this season: Make it to the Sweet 16 and, hopefully, beyond. Sometimes, a fresh new image can really invigorate new life into a program, which is what these sick black uniforms are hoping to achieve in 2018-19.
