We are one week away from the start of the NBA season, and we are now also one week away from Kevin Durant’s shoe collab with YouTube dropping.
As we previously reported earlier this week, Kevin Durant is dropping a new collaboration colorway between himself, Nike, his Zoom KD 12, and illustrious video streaming platform YouTube. A new colorway for the Nike Zoom KD 12 will stem out of this collab; it will be highlighted by the same red and white color scheme that makes us the YouTube logo.
When we first released info on the shoes, we did not have any official info as far as when the shoes would release on to the sneaker market because Nike had not officially released any such info yet. We had an international release date, but not an official global release date for when we could see these things in the United States. Well, now that has changed as Nike have now officially released an official release date number for when these shoes are hitting a retail store near you. These shoes will be releasing on Oct. 26, which, coincidentally, happens to be the exact same day that the NBA 2019-2020 begins.
Apparently, these shoes have been in the works for a while now. Original plans, according to Sole Collector, would have seen KD rocking the “YouTube” KD 12 colorway for the world to see for the first time ever during the Brooklyn Nets’ season opener against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Oct. 23, but of course, due to his Achilles injury prolonging things, KD will not be playing any games for a long time, potentially until the end of this new season, or even next season.
We wish KD a speedy recovery, but in the meantime, we will be copping his YouTube shoes on Oct. 26.
