Asics GEL-Quantum Infinity laps the competition

Full length visible technology has been part of the running game for years. Asics is a well respected in running circles, and the Asics Gel-Quantum Infinity is a great leap forward for the brand.

ASICS has had GEL technology since the 80’s, and has made the feature visible in some lines of shoes. Tee Kayano has featured GEL seen from the bottom of the sole. THE GEL Lyte series is iconic, especially with the split top tongue replacement.

With the GEL-Quantum Infinity, which is ASICS first shoe with visible full-length GEL tech and styling from heel to toe. The body of the ASICS GEL-Quantum Infinity has a gripped-material texture. Asics says the bottom of the shoe is inspired by rippled water, and the marketing tries to make that link unforgettable.

An Asics ‘Infinity’ symbol appear on the heel and tongue in Japanese Katakana writing. Lastly, the unique upper is crafted from what ASICS describes as a “vacuum no-sew material execution.” The brand new style is being launched in four colorways. There is “Black/Shocking Orange” and “Mid Grey/Dark Grey” for men, and “Black/Icy Morning” and “Mid Grey/Flash Coral” for women.

The GEL-Quantum Infinity is the latest development from Japan based ASICS’ Institute of Sport Science. This new upper and cushioning system being lending to other platforms could produce some interesting collaborations.
