Lonzo Ball plays in the unreleased Under Armour Curry 4

Lonzo Ball made his Las Vegas Summer League debut for the Lakers wearing his very own Big Baller Brand ZO2 sneakers, at least for the first two games. But he’s been keeping us guessing ever since.

Lonzo went off for 36 points wearing the Kobe A.D. from Nike, and dropped a triple-double while wearing the Harden LS from adidas. Then, in his fifth appearance, Ball laced up the unreleased Curry 4 from Under Armour on Saturday against the Nets.

LaVar Ball told ESPN he’s still open to a deal from one of the major brands, and Lonzo admitted there may be something more to his on-court sneaker decisions than simply a personal choice.

“It’s making a statement to the brands of what they could have had with an open mind,” LaVar said via text message. “The players are the brand ambassadors. The brand is nothing without the players.”

Asked whether there is still a chance for a big shoe brand to sign his son, LaVar responded: “If the price is right. Quite frankly we are officially in the shoe game, and are a billion-dollar brand either way.”

Afterward, Lonzo Ball told ESPN that “when he wakes up” he decides which shoes to wear. Asked whether his shoe choices are part of a master plan, he noted: “You could say that.”

The Curry 4 is by far the best-looking signature sneaker we’ve seen from Under Armour, but they haven’t been released to the public yet, so there’s no consensus on performance. We’ve heard they’ll be on the way in September or October, but for now, which one of Lonzo’s sneakers has been your favorite so far?
