Rapper Skepta to drop another Nike collab in September

Skepta is once again teaming up with Nike to release a new sneaker. This time, it will be a reboot of the classic old school Nike Shox TL from back in the day.

Skepta is a 36-year old rapper who has been on the music scene for the better part of nearly two decades, but has begun to emerge as a breakout act over the course of the last few years thanks to collaborations with mainstream mainstays like Drake, ASAP Rocky and Playboi Carti. These partnerships with popular artists have afforded the United Kingdom native with some awesome opportunities, like a deal with Nike.

The rapper previously produced a sneaker collab with Nike and before 2019 is over, he plans to do it all over again. After a number of leaked images and release dates, Nike have finally confirmed that the collaboration actually exists and have since released official images of their shoes together, which will be a capsule of brand new Nike Shox TL.

The Nike Shox TL originally released in 2003, but will be making a much anticipated comeback that sneakerheads are very much looking forward to. The Shox TL has become etched in history as such a classic sneaker because it features one of Nike’s earliest innovation: the midsole cushion. The current reboot is expected to feature the same cushioning, along with a University Black/Black colorway.

The Skepta x Nike reboot of the shoe does not have an officially announced release date yet, but it is currently rumored to release at some point next week on Sept. 5, this Thursday. Although not is confirmed or set in stone, keep your eyes peeled just in case these shoes do arrive to a sneaker store near you that day.
