Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is fresh off winning the NBA Finals with the Oklahoma City Thunder, and the 26-year-old guard was also named Finals MVP. After winning the regular-season MVP Award, the scoring title, and leading the Thunder to a league-best 68 wins, Gilgeous-Alexander‘s storybook season is complete.
He celebrated the trophy-filled year the way all champions do: with gold. However, Gilgeous-Alexander didn’t have a gold medal around his neck; he had gold sneakers.
During the post-game trophy ceremony, the Thunder star was on stage with a pair of his signature Converse shoes, Shai 001, hanging over his shoulders. The model of shoes he brought out for the celebration was all gold, which Converse has now announced as the “Trophy Gold” colorway.

Gilgeous-Alexander and Converse, who he signed a multi-year extension with in 2024, first revealed his signature sneaker back in February during All-Star Weekend. The first model was the “Butter” colorway, giving the shoe a tan look all round.
While the shoes aren’t going to be available for purchase until the Fall, Gilgeous-Alexander has been sporting them all throughout the second half of the season, in many different colorways.
After winning MVP this season, he unveiled a “Hail Clay” colorway, inspired by the color of his wife Hailey’s eyes. In game seven, he won his first championship in the “Masi Blue” colorway, and as previously stated, he celebrated with the “Trophy Gold” model.
According to SneakerNews.com, the Trophy Gold model “is likely a PE reserved for [Gilgeous-Alexander‘s] award case,” and will never actually be available for the public to purchase.
However, neither Converse nor the NBA star has confirmed or denied that yet, so fans will have to wait and see if they’ll ever be able to get their hands on the gold edition of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander‘s first signature shoe.
