Derrick Rose’s signature line with adidas is returning for another shoe plus earlier models will retro at some point during 2019
The 2018-19 NBA season will be the 10th for point guard Derrick Rose after he was selected No. 1 overall by the Chicago Bulls in the 2008 NBA Draft. It’s been a rollercoaster career for the Chicago native, hitting his peak by winning the NBA MVP in the 2010-11 season.
But after that, Rose suffered an ACL injury in the 2012 NBA Playoffs and was never the same.
During his time with the Bulls, Rose signed a contract with adidas to produce his own signature shoe line kicking off with the adidas adiZero Rose that launched in 2010. The signature line is still going and adidas just revealed new plans for the upcoming season.
ESPN and Nice Kick’s Nick DePaula sat down with Rose to discuss his where he’s at in his life including the new “Rose Scholars” he’s launching in Chicago where he will offer up to a total of $400,000 in college scholarships through the program to High School students.
During the sit down, the two discussed Rose’s signature shoe line with adidas and revealed two important things.

The first is that adidas will make a 10th shoe in the line, the DRose 10 as he will become just the eighth player in NBA history to have 10 consecutive signature shoes with the same line. Not only will Rose have a 10th shoe but he will also have a full apparel line with the release.
In addition to the shoe, adidas plans on releasing retro versions of the Rose line beginning with the DRose 1.5 which Rose wore during his MVP season.
“Retros and going on to my 10th signature shoe, I think any basketball player with a brand is praying for [that],” Rose said via DePaula.
The DRose 1.5 will retro with a Bulls colorway first before releasing other classic colorways of the shoe.
For fans of the Bulls, Rose or adidas sneakers, this is significant news. You will not only be able to grab the signature basketball shoe to hoop in but you can take a trip down memory lane with the sneaker.
There’s no direct timeline as of now for when the Rose series will retro. If you want to read more on Rose and why his signature line is still thriving, particularly in China I suggest you read all of DePaula’s piece. It not only offers insight into Rose’s signature line but his life as he prepares for the upcoming season with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
