President Joe Biden substitutes hiker-centric HOKA shoes for casual Cole Haan sneakers
Joe Biden's choice of footwear as of late has had its fair share of attention on social media and by news outlets alike. Seen regularly sporting the HOKA Transport model, the shoe's ability to provide 'maximum stability' was highlighted as the 81-year-old President's overall health and wellness raised concerns. With multiple tumbles and fumbles in the past, Biden wearing HOKA was not seen as a fashion choice, but rather a mandatory requirement to help keep the aging President's balance afloat.
But earlier this week, Biden's newest sneaker change to his wardrobe could silence his doubters, as he swapped the ultra-stable HOKA Transport for a pair of Cole Haan Zerøgrand. Now, despite its dressy appearance, you'd be surprised to hear these Cole Haan's are actually quite useful for everyday comfort too. It's definitely no HOKA, but Biden chose a more formal set of sneakers on his three-day Presidential business excursion to prominent western states - Nevada, Arizona, and Texas.
Biden swapped out his ultra-stable HOKA trainers for a pair of ultra-cushioned Cole Haan dress shoes during a recent campaign trip.
According to the official Cole Haan site, the Zerøgrand is described as a wingtip Oxford that is modern and comfortable. It is built on an updated form that reduces heel friction and provides more room at the toe. The Zerøgrand is known for offering four premium benefits to the wearer: superior comfort with plush cushioning, exceptional lightweight design, maximum flexibility for range of motion, and powerful grip for added traction.
As the 2024 United States election approaches, Biden is ramping up his campaign efforts, as he looks to secure a second term against his presidential predecessor Donald Trump. Whether he continues his campaign trail in a pair of Cole Haan shoes or his trademark HOKAs is still in question, as the POTUS switches up his footwear depending on the occasion.
