Ye drops new YZY Slippers

On a fairly quiet Monday night, Ye- formerly known as Kanye West- logged on to his social media accounts and delivered a message that most fans have been waiting for aside from new music announcements. Ye has officially dropped a brand new piece of footwear for the masses, and they are not a new colorway of YZY Pods as some were expecting. Uploaded to YZY was a pair of YZY Slippers officially labeled as "SL-01".

To accompany the other items that have been available for sale in recent weeks, such as t-shirts (labeled TS), hoodies (labeled HD), raincoats (labeled RC), shorts (labeled SH), and sweatpants (labeled SP), the newly added slippers become the first piece of footwear to enter the YZY hemisphere since the YZY Pods at the top of 2024. The slippers become the second overall piece of footwear since Ye's departure from Adidas as well.

In an all-black coat, the slippers look to draw inspiration from both the Yeezy Slides and the YZY Pods, they become a very interesting piece as they seem to combine aspects that fans have enjoyed from both looks, such as the overall style of the slides but the sleekness of the pods.

Ye has not been quiet on social media in 2025, providing an upload on socials almost daily throughout the new year. As he continues to work on his latest album "Bully", he has not disappointed with keeping fans fed with fashion as snippets and news related to music have been kept pretty in-house, which is shocking for a post-2016 Kanye West album drop. With the music being kept in concerning the public, fans are excited for both the fashion and music sides of Ye's brain moving creatively in a positive direction.

Ye has kept fans in the loop as to what they can expect with the YZY Slippers throughout Monday night as he has posted multiple feet images of himself from weeks ago as fans caught him at the airport, not even knowing what would be releasing on the 13th. He even has posted sketch material showing off the vision and prototypes as well. Since he is so locked in, even commented on the process in an Instagram post made last week stating that he has worked on 10 designs of footwear recently. With this being the first look at 1 of the possible 10, it will be interesting how the rest of the "Bully" era will go within fashion and music for Ye.
