Often, the squared circle has been a launching pad to Hollywood fame and glory. It makes sense: this form of entertainment is the marriage of acting and stunt work, of live theater and sport. WWE Superstars need comedic timing, a mastery of improvisation, knowing how to play to the camera, and knowing how to deliver a dramatic performance—along with a dropkick or two.
This is how we got: Andre the Giant in ‘The Princess Bride’; Terry Funk in ‘Road House’; Roddy Piper in ‘They Live’; “Macho Man” Randy Savage’s now-iconic turn as Bonesaw in the first Tobey Maguire ‘Spider-Man’. Not to mention all the movies starring “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Dave Bautista, John Cena, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Terry “Hulk Hogan” Bollea.
And now, we’re about to get Becky Lynch like we’ve never seen her: in a comedy from the team behind one of television’s most outrageous shows.
WWE superstar Becky Lynch joins FX Pilot of "Movers" from "Reno 911" team
Deadline recently reported that FX picked up a new workplace comedy called "Movers" from husband and wife duo Robert Ben Garant and Cathy Shim.
Garant is a giant in comedy, co-creating "Reno 911!" along with his fellow "The State" alums Thomas Lennon and Kerri Kennedy. Garant and Lennon also co-wrote the "Night at the Museum" movies, as well as films such as 2004’s "Taxi", 2005’s "Herbie: Fully Loaded", and 2007’s "Balls of Fury". Shim appeared in "Reno 911!", "Superior Donuts", "The Sun is also a Star", and lent her voice to a handful of projects like "The Cleveland Show", "Diablo II", and "Kpop Demon Hunters."
As the title indicates, "Movers" is an "improvised workplace comedy revolving around the erratic and codependent lives of a crew of movers,” per Deadline. Basically, "Reno 911!" but instead of cops, it’s Piece of Cake Moving or ‘Two Men and a Truck.

Garant and Shim will star in the mockumentary alongside a cast that includes Maz Jobrani ("Friday After Next"), Tanael “TJ” Joachim, Manny Montana ("Ironheart"), and Rebecca Quin, aka WWE’s Becky Lynch.
Quin has done some acting beyond the WWE. She appeared in a 2020 episode of "Billions" and portrayed Cyndi Lauper in two episodes of "Young Rock".
She is also known for her role as Maddy Hayes in "The Marine 6: Close Quarters", (currently) the final installment in the action franchise. She is also reportedly appearing in the upcoming "Happy Gilmore 2" and will have a role in the forthcoming "Star Trek: Starfleet Academy".
If "Movers" gets picked up for a full season, it may mean Quin’s time at Becky Lynch will come to a close. She discussed her post-WWE career on a 2024 episode of Brad Tate’s The Casual Podcast.
“Performance is something that I’ve always loved,” said Quin. “I’ve studied it, I’ve got my degree in acting. I don’t know if you saw a little role that I played as Cyndi Lauper, but acting is something that I’ve loved for a long time and it’s something I’ve studied and got my degree in. That is something I’d like to pursue…Only time will tell.”
Quin—who is married and has a child with fellow WWE Superstar Colby “Seth Rollins” Lopez—is scheduled to compete at WWE Evolution on July 12. The all-women Premium Live Event will see Quin, as Becky Lynch, defend the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship in a Triple Threat match with Lyra Valkyria and Bayley.
