As the Indiana Pacers are in a tight race toward the top 3 teams in the NBA's Eastern Conference, all eyes continue to be on their star guard, Tyrese Haliburton. The team trails behind the Cleveland Cavs, Boston Celtics, and New York Knicks in the final months leading towards an intense playoffs scene for the East. As the tensions began to rise, Haliburton showed off some of the perks of being a PUMA signature athlete, debuting some new kicks in tribute to his pup, Ames.
Haliburton joined the PUMA family in October 2024 and has not looked back since. Becoming the highlighted name of the PUMA 'All-Pro NITRO' basketball sneaker has been a highlight for the guard as they are implemented with technology such as NITRO™ SQD FOAM from PUMA which specializes in lateral stability for all multi-directional movements on the court. Its mesh upper allows for a more breathable model compared to other hooping sneakers and features a simple yet effective model for the shoe game of hoopers.
Haliburton took to the patented model and put his own spin on the shoe, allowing for a more personal touch and connection to the model on his feet, paying tribute to man's best friend. The sneaker features a golden brown tone to the upper and all around the shoe, adding a fur texture to the tongue and entire midsole. Featuring black laces to finish the sneaker, it really does resemble the dog well, Ames should be proud. We have seen other hoopers like Devin Booker create colorways in honor of their 4 legged friends in the past, so the tradition continues.
As the race towards playoffs continues, we will keep on the lookout if Haliburton keeps these sneakers in the on-court rotation.
