While Travis Hunter has had quite the two weeks since being awarded the Heisman trophy regarding his personal relationship going public and many giving their piece on it, he remains one of the most talented players in college football. Hunter played his final collegiate game on Saturday in the Alamo Bowl and decided he would do it while showcasing some new kicks.
Before Colorado's big bowl game against BYU, Travis Hunter showed off his cleat selection for the special game: a custom pair of Nikes with the Heisman logo and the award in bolded letters on a strap across the front. The laces feature beads layered on the tongue spelling out Hunter's first name on one shoe and last name on the other with a color combonation of white, black and gold hits. The shoe is finished with reverse Nike swoosh in gold. Safe to say that Hunter went all out for the showcase as it obviously is a big deal and should be treated as such.
Hunter has had a history making year, topping it off with the Heisman victory. This season alone, he played almost every snap on offense and defense as the Buffaloes improved from 4–8 to 9–3, a truly impressive stat for someone in their early year of the career, and not even in the pros yet. Winning the trophy with 552 first-place votes and 2,231 total points, it is most definitely deserved. As a wide receiver, Hunter caught 92 passes for 1,152 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Hunter also used the opportunity to end his his time dawning the swoosh as his Adidas deal will officially begin imminently.
Projected as a top pick for the 2025 NFL draft, Hunter looks to keep his talents going and not pay attention to any social media rumblings as what he has been putting into his craft has clearly been working.
