NFL quarterback Cam Ward was drafted by the Tennessee Titans with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 Draft, but not long ago, Ward was an overlooked high school prospect with slim odds of even making it to the NFL.

Now, his improbable rise from being a zero-star recruit to the No. 1 overall pick will be detailed in an upcoming docu-series set to stream on Tubi.

The six-part series, titled, “Zero Star: The Cam Ward Story,” will hit the streaming platform in September.

It will give an in-depth look into Ward and his journey of going from a player with just one Division 1 offer to a Heisman finalist, but the series will also highlight the kind of person Ward is off the field, exploring his tight-knit relationship with his family and their faith.

The Firebrand Media Group behind the project referred to the series as “a portrait of faith, family, and resilience in the face of constant rejection.”

Firebrand partner and series director Alec Roth emphasized that “Cam’s journey isn’t just about football — it’s about heart, belief, and the power of second chances,” and that will be documented over the six episodes.

Roth believes this series will provide viewers with the motivation to overcome whatever odds they might face.

"This series gives viewers an unfiltered look at a young man who was told ‘no’ at every stage yet refused to quit. From backyard games in West Columbia to draft night glory, Cam’s story unfolds across six episodes filled with raw emotion, defining moments, and behind-the-scenes access. It’s a modern hero’s journey — and a blueprint for anyone who’s ever felt overlooked."

Because Ward was overlooked coming out of high school, his path to be the first player selected in the 2025 Draft was long and circuitous.

He started his collegiate career at Incarnate Word in 2020 before transferring to Washington State in 2022, and ultimately ending his college career at the University of Miami in 2024.

Speaking about his journey, Ward explained that being overlooked was a blessing and a curse, but he ultimately turned adversity into strength, which made way for him to be where he is today.

"I overcame the curse by turning adversity into strength and I have played with nothing to lose, which is a blessing. It means you bring it all and leave it all out there on the field and in life."

Fans who tune in will be treated to old footage, behind-the-scenes moments, and interviews with Ward and the important people in his life.

While an official release date hasn’t been announced yet, the series is expected to debut on Tubi in September, the same month Ward will make his NFL debut.
