A partnership that was originally teased back in July of 2024 by Salehe Bembury via an Instagram post holding a “TOP SECRET PUMA IDEAS” folder in front of a PUMA-stamped plane has had fans and sneakerheads alike in a frenzy for what could come from the creative and athletic brand when they would come together. PUMA would eventually give more details regarding the presumed partnership confirming that Bembury would be involved in the PUMA Hoops department specifically, and even proposing a signature sneaker and the athlete recruitment process for deals and further collaboration with the PUMA brand.

With some time in between the last batch of news regarding Bembury and sneakers that Under The Laces last reported on being the launch of the deal, we finally have a close look at what Salehe Bembury and PUMA Brand have been cooking up as they have released a detailed look via Instagram of what looks to be the first signature drop between the two.

The sneakers resemble a hybrid of a basketball sneaker, which would be more of what sneakerheads expected with Bembury being involved in PUMA's basketball team, but also with a blend of a running shoe feel. Draped in a mostly green coating, the shoe offers a lot of style. With the tongue being more of a lighter green leading into darker hues splashed around, namely the signature PUMA detailing, the sole is highlighted in a blue splash completing the look. A PUMA X Salehe Bembury spell-out logo is seen along the heel in a yellow color, adding a hit of the loud colors that Bembury is known for in the sneaker world thus far.

With this being the first look at what is to come between the two collaborators, I am interested to see what else is on the horizon. With the mind of Salehe Bembury at the helm, his creativity can add a lot to the styling of PUMA's sneaker team in the future and for future collaborations as well.
