Marvel and Reebok team up to release X-Men-themed sneaker collection

As the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) gears up to release a new wave of films after a brief hiatus that left some fans underwhelmed by recent offerings, they are set to reclaim their place at the forefront of popular culture. The anticipation for their upcoming projects is building, and fans eagerly await what the MCU has in store for them next.

The highly anticipated X-Men '97 television series, available exclusively on the Disney+ streaming platform, marks a triumphant return for the beloved franchise after a hiatus. Marvel fans have eagerly awaited the opportunity to see their favorite group of mutants back on their screens, given the success of the franchise's 11 full-length films, spinoffs, and 7 original series. Unsurprisingly, the X-Men's popularity remains strong across various mediums, solidifying their status as a powerhouse in mainstream pop culture.

Recently, in addition to the highly anticipated X-Men '97 series, trailers have been released for Deadpool & Wolverine, the third installment of the Deadpool movie franchise, and another film featuring the iconic Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. As excitement builds for these upcoming releases, a new Reebok sneaker collaboration is set to be unveiled, adding to the already impressive lineup of merchandise inspired by these beloved Marvel characters.

Capitalizing on the excitement surrounding X-Men '97, Reebok is set to release two exclusive pairs of sneakers inspired by iconic characters from the X-Men universe: Wolverine and Gambit. Recognized by fans as influential figures within the group, both characters will now have their own Reebok footwear designs.

The Wolverine version will feature the "Classic Leather" model, incorporating the iconic yellow, blue, and black color scheme from the comic-accurate suit. The patterns on the heel and sides of the shoe subtly reference Wolverine's signature mask, adding a fun Easter egg for fans to discover.

The Gambit design and colorway have been applied to the Reebok Club C shoe model. This iteration boasts a darker aesthetic, incorporating the original colors of brown, black, neon pink, and purple accents throughout the shoe. Each shoe will also include the respective character's name along the top near the laces.

While these two designs are the only ones confirmed for an official release, there is potential for additional designs to be added to the collection based on the success of the initial release. Both pairs will be priced at $90 and are set to release on May 2nd.
