On June 14, Under Armour and Curry Brand were proud to announce the signing of their first international signature athlete — 23-year-old Japanese college basketball standout Keisei Tominaga. Keisei Tominaga's impressive senior year at the University of Nebraska made him an exceptional player in the NCAA basketball scene. As a result of his outstanding efforts, he received All-Big Ten second-team recognition.

Tominaga joining the Curry Brand is a childhood dream coming full circle, as he proudly dons the number 30 jersey and draws inspiration from the playing style of Stephen Curry. It was over five years ago when the two first crossed paths as Keisei was invited to participate in the 2018 Under Armour Basketball Tour in Tokyo as a high school student. Since then, Tominaga has consistently demonstrated a striking resemblance to Curry in his playing style, earning him the moniker "Japanese Steph Curry" due to his impressive sharpshooting skills on the court.

It's only fitting that Keisei Tominaga signed with Curry Brand, as he embodies the same spirit and approach as his hero.

As the pioneering international athlete to partner with Curry Brand, Tominaga will proudly don Curry Brand's footwear and apparel on the court as he embarks on a new chapter in his basketball journey. Off the court, he will serve as a brand ambassador, amplifying Curry Brand's global reach and commitment to making a positive impact. Together with Curry Brand, Tominaga will drive community-driven initiatives that empower young athletes to chase their passions, just as he has done. This collaboration aims to create opportunities for the next generation of athletes to follow in his footsteps and achieve their dreams. Tominaga gave his thoughts on joining the Curry Brand in an official press release, where he said:

"It is an incredible honor to join Curry Brand and be among its elite roster of athletes... Steph has always been one of my basketball heroes and I have worked hard to emulate his game in my own basketball career, so to be able to represent his brand and everything he stands for is a dream come true."

In 2019, Tominaga made the move to the United States to further his college basketball career, initially joining Ranger College in Texas. During his two-year stint, he played a significant role in helping the team achieve a remarkable 50-win milestone. Notably, he solidified his reputation as a lights-out sniper, boasting an impressive 51% 3-point shooting percentage as a sophomore, ranking him among the top nine in the nation. Tominaga subsequently transferred to the University of Nebraska, where he spent the last three seasons. During his time there, he left an indelible mark on the program's history, ranking seventh all-time with 178 career 3-pointers made. Specifically, his 76 triples this past season placed him eighth in single-season history at Nebraska.

Curry Brand's president, none other than Golden State Warriors legend Stephen Curry, commented on Tominaga's significant multi-year agreement in the same press release:

"We are excited to have Keisei join the Curry Brand family as we continue to extend our mission internationally... He has a dedication to the game and continues to be an inspiration for athletes across the globe. I love that we are growing this amazing roster of Curry Brand athletes, and Keisei along with our other athletes are continuing to create an impact and changing the game of basketball."

Tominaga's recent partnership with the Curry Brand sees him joining a roster including other talented basketball players like De'Aaron Fox and MiLaysia Fulwiley. As of this writing, no official word has been made regarding a signature Under Armour/Curry Brand sneaker for Keisei Tominaga. However, it isn't farfetched to assume something of that nature is on the horizon very soon. For now, we'll just have to wait and see where Keisei Tominaga takes his basketball endeavors next.
