It's official; the Jordan Tatum 1 basketball sneaker is a hit after a rocky start. The sneaker is Celtics' forward Jayson Tatum's first signature shoe. While Tatum spent months hyping up the shoe, sneaker aficionados were skeptical after two rounds of leaked photos. The real deal sneaker is far better looking than fans originally thought it would be, and the model's most anticipated colorway is set to hit shelves in just a couple of days.

Fake photos had Tatum fans concerned about his signature shoe

Jayson Tatum spent plenty of time talking about his collaboration with the Jordan brand. Fans were hyped to see what the power forward came up with; then, fake photos were leaked online multiple times. In September 2022, Buttcrack Sports shared pictures of a translucent sneaker that they insisted was Tatum's anticipated collaboration.

The Twitter account is a satirical sports news account. Some fans didn't notice where the post came from and quickly disseminated the faked images. A few months later, SneakerNews shared photos of the what they insisted was the official shoe. NBACentral shared the photos via Twitter. Fans absolutely roasted the kicks, with one Twitter user calling the sneakers a "Payless exclusive." During a post-game interview, Tatum insisted that the pictures posted online were not real and that the real shoe would look much better.

So far, Tatum has been true to his word. While the official sneakers look similar, in style, to the photos shared back in January, they are far more refined, and the quality of the materials certainly seems much better.

A fourth Jordan Tatum 1 colorways will be released on June 20

The Jordan Tatum 1 was officially released in April 2023. The shoe's first colorway, nicknamed Zoo, offers a lightweight black mesh upper with red detailing. The shoe's sole is an aged tan with additional red accents. While sneaker enthusiasts liked the Zoo colorway, they've been anxiously awaiting the release of "Pink Lemonade," the latest in a variety of planned colorways.

Pink Lemonade is due to be released on June 20, according to Sneakernews. The upcoming release is the colorway that Tatum wore during the 2023 NBA All-Star Game. The sneaker's soft pink mesh upper has aurora green and lemon yellow accents. The soles are also done up in yellow to tie the sneaker together. While it isn't one of the Jordan brand's most traditional colorways, it is the most interesting one we've seen in a long while.

The St. Louis colorway feels more traditional, featuring a white upper with university red, blue, and gold accents. It was released on April 15. The Barbershop colorway was released the following month. A few more colorways are planned for later this summer.
