Monday, September 16, marks the celebration of Mexican Independence Day, which coincides with the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month, observed from September 15 to October 15. The celebration of Mexican and Spanish culture has permeated both the sports and fashion industries, with this past weekend's Riyadh Season Noche UFC as the most significant event honoring this heritage. This landmark occasion took place at the cutting-edge Sphere venue in Las Vegas.

Regarding leading fashion and sneaker brands honoring Mexican and Hispanic heritage, Jordan Brand is establishing itself as a significant figure in Mexican culture by demonstrating dedication to Latin American communities.

The newest addition to the brand's footwear lineup, the Air Jordan V "El Grito", captures this vision by celebrating the vibrant culture of Mexico. It incorporates elements from its vibrant streets, colors, textures, and the spirit of its people, reflecting Mexican identity and pride both domestically and internationally. This "El Grito" colorway strengthens the bond between Jordan Brand and the Mexican and Latin American communities, built through distinctive experiences and partnerships that foster an exceptional link between sports enthusiasts and sneaker culture.

Jordan Brand is connecting sneakers and culture by celebrating Mexican heritage

The El Grito sneaker showcases an exquisite white leather upper adorned with embossed embellishments that draw inspiration from traditional Mexican craftsmanship, particularly talavera pottery known for its vivid colors and intricate designs. This thoughtful detailing enhances the shoe's aesthetic, bringing a touch of cultural heritage to a modern silhouette.

Bold accents emerge with red and green lace locks and midsole teeth that create a striking contrast against the pristine backdrop of the sneaker. Adding to its unique character, engraved dubraes (a term coined by Nike to describe decorative lace lock accessories) featuring the word "viva" infuse the design with a distinctive Mexican flair. The interior of the shoe is equally enchanting, boasting a Jordan Brand label in the national colors and a rich burgundy geometric pattern that adds an extra burst of vibrancy to the overall look.
