Los Angeles-based premium athletic apparel retailer, Alo, has unveiled its second shoe, marking its initial entry into performance-focused footwear with a new running sneaker. Named the Runner, this sneaker became available for pre-order on Thursday, August 29, in classic black and white options at a starting retail price of $185. Aside from their shower slides, this represents the brand's second significant footwear offering to its consumers.

Alo has entered the performance-centric shoe market with the introduction of their Runner silhouette

Following the successful launch of their acclaimed Recovery Mode sneaker in May 2023, which received rave reviews, Alo has finally unveiled a highly anticipated performance running shoe. This new model marks the latest addition to their prestigious sneaker lineup. The Alo Runner is expertly crafted to seamlessly combine style and outstanding performance, ensuring that each stride is enhanced with unmatched elegance and precision. This innovative performance model is set to redefine your running experience, making it an essential choice for those seeking both aesthetics and functionality in their athletic footwear.

As per Alo, the company revealed that the Runner model is constructed using 70% recyclable materials. This eco-friendly initiative highlights Alo's commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.

Summer Nacewicz, the Executive Vice President of Marketing and Creative at Alo, expressed her insights regarding the brand's newest sneaker initiative, stating:

"The way the Runner is engineered is to keep you running on your toes, which is the proper way to run... When you put them on, it changes your posture and tilts you forward. And as you run, it makes it easy to keep proper form."

Similarly, Danny Harris, Founder and CEO of Alo, shared his insights on the Runner project, stating:

"Alo doesn’t get into a category unless we truly believe that our product is the best... Apple comes out with a product, and they put everything behind it. It’s the same idea for us. When we come out with another shoe, it will be a different kind of shoe, in a category that we’re addressing very seriously and are really excited about. The only exception may be updates to the original model as technology advances. New colors of the Runner will be introduced in December."

The Alo brand enjoys significant popularity among celebrities and elite athletes. Thus, it's no surprise that Joe Burrow, the standout quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals, is lending his endorsement to the latest Alo Runner in their promotional efforts. Burrow joins a star-studded cast of Alo endorsers with prominent social media followings including model and actor Mathew Noszka, activist and motorcyclist Jordan Rand, and Tae Kwon Do champion Rayna Vallandingham.
