After being sidelined due to a serious diverticulitis scare, All Elite Wrestling's "Best Bout Machine," Kenny Omega, recently returned to his home away from home in Japan. During his visit, he provided fans with an update on his recovery process. Diverticulitis is a gastrointestinal condition that occurs when small pouches, or diverticula, in the large intestine become inflamed or infected. Omega was officially sidelined with this condition in December 2023 and it was reported that he would be out of action indefinitely. This absence has not only impacted storylines within the wrestling company but has also had significant real-life effects on Omega.

Kenny Omega's absence from AEW television is evident, as he has been a major star since the company's inception

Omega kept his fans entertained by streaming regularly on his Twitch account, @thecleanerscorner. In April, he provided an update on his condition, stating:

"Even though I’m very much still dealing with the effects of diverticulitis and diverticulosis... There is this wonderful clinic, LifeMed Clinic over in Baltimore, and they have helped a number of wrestlers. They have done stuff with DPP and DDP Yoga. Their professionals were able to hook me up with a supplement line consisting of the stuff that I need for general gut health and healing peptides, has helped me feel very good in my day-to-day."

In May, Kenny Omega returned to AEW television with an appearance on the flagship show, AEW Dynamite, to provide fans with an in-person update on his recovery. During this segment, Omega got physical with his former friends in "The Elite" faction, culminating in an attack that led to him being stretchered out of the building to close the show. While this development was not positive for Omega's character, fans were nonetheless relieved to see that he, as a person, was in a better place.

Recently, fans have spotted Kenny Omega at theme parks and out for walks in public, taking photos and hoping for the imminent return of one of the best in-ring wrestlers. Omega is set to return to Japan this week, a place where he made a name for himself in professional wrestling, noting that he is there to pick up some new work clothes. In addition to that update for sneakerheads, Kenny Omega was seen in great shape, sporting a pair of Nike Air Yeezy 2 "Red October" shoes, which have only increased in value over the years and are considered a true grail among fans.

Omega sure knows how to put on a six-star look, as he rocked a pair of the Nike Air Yeezy 2 "Red October"

This isn't the first time Omega has been spotted publicly in a pair of luxury sneakers. In fact, he wore the same coveted "Red October" sneakers during an episode of AEW Rampage last fall.

Currently listed on resale market platforms like StockX for approximately $10,000 USD, it is clear that these sneakers are highly sought after and held in great esteem. As “The Cleaner” prepares for his anticipated return to the ring, one has to wonder if he will bring some sneaker culture with him, like many of his peers. Time will tell—stay tuned for updates!
