Four seasons into his professional career, Anthony Edwards, the standout star of the Minnesota Timberwolves franchise, has firmly established himself among the elite talents of the NBA. When he was selected first overall in the highly anticipated 2020 NBA Draft, he became part of a Timberwolves roster undergoing a comprehensive rebuild.

Fast forward to the recent 2023-24 NBA regular season, and the Timberwolves were on the brink of greatness, advancing to the Western Conference Finals against the formidable Dallas Mavericks. Unfortunately, their playoff run came to an end in a challenging series, where they were ultimately eliminated with a 4-1 loss. Despite this setback, Edwards’ rise to prominence reflects both his individual talent and the promising direction of the Timberwolves franchise.

It’s no surprise that Anthony Edwards' star power has led to a lucrative sneaker endorsement deal with a major athletic wear and footwear company like Adidas. He signed with the iconic Three Stripes brand in December 2020, just a few games into his NBA career. By joining Adidas, Edwards entered an elite group of NBA athletes, alongside other prominent names such as Damian Lillard, Donovan Mitchell, and James Harden. In fact, Edwards recently secured a long-term contract extension that will keep him locked down as an Adidas-sponsored athlete, in a deal reportedly worth over $50 million.

Edwards unveiled his first signature Adidas sneaker, the AE1, in his hometown of Atlanta in September 2023. This momentous occasion occurred during a community celebration honoring Edwards' substantial contributions to the city, both during his time at the University of Georgia and throughout his brief yet impressive professional career. As part of the festivities, a mural dedicated to Edwards was unveiled, and August 5th was officially declared "Anthony Edwards Day" in the Atlanta metropolitan area, both celebrating his influence and achievements, while also recognizing his birthday.

Now in August 2024, a remarkable milestone will be celebrated with the scheduled launch of the Adidas AE1 Low “Mural”, marking the release of the second colorway of Anthony Edwards' low-top signature shoe. Inspired by a vibrant backdrop of the previously mentioned mural in Atlanta, this shoe features a striking coral pink cage and bold orange Adidas branding on the heel, while the upper portion is crafted from sleek black mesh.

On August 5th, 2024, the Adidas AE1 Low “Mural” will be released, priced at $110. This exclusive launch will be available through Foot Locker, the Adidas app, and select Adidas retail locations.
