Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is a man involved in many projects, and he’s currently focused on one of his most important projects to date: building a new home.
Back in 2020, the NBA’s all-time leading scorer purchased a property in Beverly Hills, California, for $36.8 million. However, James and his family had a different idea for their new home, completely destroying the previous house and rebuilding things with their vision.
According to some recent information shared by Realtor.com's Kelsi Karruli, construction started in 2023, and major progress has been made on what will be an enormous mansion when complete.
Karruli said the home is James’s “dream megamansion,” so it’s being built with a ton of unique features and amenities, crafted specifically for the James family.
"It's understood that the Lakers star has spared no expense on the property, which is expected to feature an array of lavish amenities, including a resort-style infinity pool, home theater, wine cellar, and—of course—an indoor basketball court."

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is building the home of his dreams
The house that resided on the property before James decided to rebuild was originally built in the 1930s, and once owned by William J. and Lee Phillip Bell, the married couple that created the legendary soap operas "The Young and the Restless" and "The Bold and the Beautiful."
So the estate is from a long line of luxury, and James is now building on that.
Karruli reports that insiders have said the multilevel structure is being built with maximum privacy. While the story contained several pictures of the work in progress, the expectation is that the final product will create an intimate environment for James and his family.
An Akron native, James started his NBA career by staying home in Ohio, playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers. He eventually joined the Miami Heat for several years before returning back to the Cavs for another stint.
After joining the Lakers in 2018, James has made his home in Southern California, and the construction of this house seems to be just the latest confirmation that he isn’t going anywhere else.
