Livvy Dunne has gone out of her way to show her love for her boyfriend, Pittsburgh Pirates ace Paul Skenes, before but it's hard to top what she did at Fanatics Fest this past weekend.

The show was a celebration of sports memorabilia, with kiosks set up all over Javits Center in New York City containing some of the rarest items collectors can hope to find. One of those items was a 1/1 Paul Skenes Anime Rookie card, an item already valuable enough on its own but made even more so by the fact that it was graded.

The Skenes card in question carried a price tag of $2,850, which was no problem at all for Dunne when it came time to purchase it.

For those who don't know, trading cards can get graded for an extra cost, which essentially locks them in a slab of plastic and preserves them in whatever condition it was when this process happened. The higher the grade and the rarer the card, the more valuable it becomes.

This specific card came from the 2024 Bowman and Bowman's Best set, and was a holy grail card for a lot of collectors. Given then price Dunne paid for it, it's hard not to see why someone wanted to pull it.

Rookie cards are among the most valuable -- and often most sought-after -- versions of what collectors hope to find when chasing cards of a star player. One of Tom Brady's rookie cards is going for as much as $300,000, while a Shohei Ohtani rookie card currently costs $50,000.

Compared to that, Dunne got a steal on the price of the Skenes card she bought, which is only going to appreciate in value as his career continues. So not only is this another show of affection between Dunne and Skenes, but it's a solid investment as well.
