It's been a tough season for Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving. He saw his teammate Luka Dončić get traded in one of the most bizarre deals in NBA history back in February, and a month later suffered a season-ending ACL injury.
There's reason for hope, though. Irving is expected to be back in 2026 and when he returns he'll be playing with both Anthony Davis and Cooper Flagg, the latter of whom the Mavs are expected to take with the No. 1 overall pick in the NBA Draft.
Irving is getting his hopes up off the court too, and has given us a Mad Lib that is as cool as it is unexpected.
Kyrie Irving joins other Star Wars fans in begging for Battlefront III to get released
During a recent Twitch stream, Irving let it be known that he wants to be one of the best players in the world -- not in the NBA but at Star Wars Battlefront II. He also threw his support behind the campaign to get EA to make Battlefront III, something fans have long been waiting for.

Ever since George Lucas sold his franchise to Disney and LucasArts stopped producing games, there's been a Star Wars video game void. Games like Jedi: Fallen Order, and it's sequel Jedi: Survivor have been released to critical praise but there hasn't been much other than that to quench everyone's thirst.
The Battlefront games had huge footsteps to follow in given how beloved the original versions from the 2000s were, and both games that have been released since have received lukewarm reception from fans.
The fact that an NBA superstar is playing one of the games almost a decade after its release says a lot about Battlefront's staying power, and his plea for a third game shouldn't fall on deaf ears at Disney. For the most part, Disney has spent more time re-releasing games that play into fan nostalgia rather than coming up with new material, something that has been a point of frustrating for most.
Right now only three games are rumored to be in development, with one being a third game in the Jedi series; none of the games are Battlefront related.
We'll see if Irving's plea helps move the needle at EA and Disney, but it's at least nice knowing that Star Wars fans have a potentially powerful ally on their side.
