When the Nike Book 1 was first released as the first official sneaker in collaboration with NBA Superstar Devin Booker, many had to wonder if the shoe would stick around and have a place among other respected pairs in the gym on the hardwood floor. As time went on and traction began to form around the sleek, casual sneaker look of the new hooping shoe, Booker made sure to let fans know that this sneaker would not be a one-and-done in terms of colorways and wearability both on and off the court. Booker showed off multiple player-exclusive looks on feet during the season and displayed what could come for the shoe under the Nike Brand, including an effort by other players to show off possible future drops as well. Finally, we have arrived at where one of the most sought-after pairs is available for the general public.
Life's like a box of chocolates ✨

The Nike Book 1 “Forrest Gump” has officially hit retail shelves and has fans in a frenzy. The pair was first previewed by Devin Booker on the court back in April of 2024, and Under The Laces had the details on the pair back when they were just a PE. Featuring the classic red, white, and blue colorway that was made famous in sneaker form in the film 'Forrest Gump,' the pair got an official release on January 24th, 2025. Nike and Devin Booker have taken full advantage of the opportunity by paying tribute to the legendary movie in promotional material, hyping up the drop.
Devin Booker laughed when I asked if we can add voice acting to his resume after the Forrest Gump Nike ads: "It turned out good, huh? It was funny."

In addition to the "Forrest Gump" release, Booker also debuted the “Aspen Corner” colorway of the Nike Book 1, showing off yet another vibrant look to add to the reputation of the Nike X Book.

These so far are looking to be another PE for Booker, but as we saw with the "Forrest Gump" edition, this might be another way of testing the waters for a general release in the future.
