The next installment in the Adidas x Fear of God collection is set to release sometime in 2025, and as we have yet to have an official release date cemented, we have gotten an official glimpse at the next set of sneakers set to drop between the athletic and streetwear fashion brands. As a little over a year has now passed since the initial announcement of a partnership between Adidas and Fear of God, they have taken full control over the blend of modern footwear with the FOG aesthetic, combining the technology of Adidas sneakers with the minimalistic approach to Fear Of God clothing.
Making its way to the line of footwear comes the Adidas x Fear of God Athletics Trainer, with the colorway officially being dubbed as the 'Night Brown.' The new sneaker delivers a sandy brown toebox portion of the shoe in suede along with a creamy white sole to round out the earth tones presented within the rest of the shoe. The back of the sneaker features a darker, more mocha-like brown and is finished with black laces and a large black strap along the top portion as well. A black rope-like stack is present along the Achilles to top things off. It is easy to confuse this shoe as a mainline Fear of God item, but there is a small Adidas logo spelled out across the front toe.
Immediately, the sneaker has a striking resemblance to the Nike Air Yeezy and even more so the Adidas Yeezy Boost 750 models, with both, of course, being from the mind of Kanye West, who had a very public split from Adidas. The strap at the helm of the shoe, as well as the overall structure, gives classic Yeezy vibes when it comes to how models were presented and the materials used. Since the breakup between Ye and Adidas, Ye has accused Adidas of stealing his designs for profit while he has no hand in the creation of said shoes. While there is no explicit 'stealing' of designs, Adidas has marketed their sneakers in recent years since the partnership and rise of the Yeezy to a standard that does have a resemblance to those shoes that West contributed to for a lot of their popular pieces of footwear. Even as far as the Adidas X FOG basketball line, the most recent drop, the Fear of God Athletics II Basketball, looks like it could be a variation of the Yeezy Quantom Basketball sneaker that was initially dropped in 2020.
Ye has made it public that he feels Adidas has used their partnership with Jerry Lorenzo's Fear of God in replacement of the Yeezy X Adidas line in various social media posts, so it is not outside of the box to think that there could be some validity to both sides claims.
The sneaker is set to drop sometime in 2025, as well as Ye's recently previewed YZY Bully sneakers. It will definitely be interesting to see how the mainstream reacts to both drops, as they are both lifestyle drops that could land in many collections during the course of the year.
